Job summary

Jobot is seeking two hands-on Engineering Assembly Technicians to support mechanical/electromechanical assembly builds and rework in a fast-paced engineering environment in Sunnyvale, CA. The role focuses on building assemblies from released designs, enabling engineers to stay focused on new product work.

The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical aptitude, ability to read drawings, and experience assembling complex hardware.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of hands-on mechanical, electromechanical, manufacturing, or engineering assembly experience.
• Experience reading engineering drawings and BOMs.
• Experience building complex hardware from drawings.
• Strong attention to detail and build quality.
• Ability to work independently while following documentation.

We are seeking two hands‑on Engineering Assembly Technicians to support mechanical/electromechanical assembly builds and rework in a fast‑paced engineering environment.

The primary focus of this position will be building and reworking assemblies according to released engineering drawings and established documentation. This is not a prototype design position—the technicians will work from completed and released designs, allowing the engineering team to remain focused on new product and design work.

The ideal candidate has strong mechanical aptitude, experience reading engineering drawings, and a background assembling complex hardware or electromechanical systems.

Job Details

Responsibilities

• Perform hands‑on assembly of mechanical and electromechanical hardware
• Build assemblies according to released engineering drawings and documentation
• Perform rework and modifications according to approved drawings and instructions
• Read and interpret mechanical drawings, assembly drawings, and technical documentation
• Use standard hand tools, power tools, torque tools, and assembly equipment
• Verify assemblies meet drawing and workmanship requirements
• Identify and communicate discrepancies, missing components, or assembly issues
• Work closely with mechanical and hardware engineers to resolve build‑related questions
• Maintain organized parts, tools, and work areas
• Follow established safety, quality, and assembly procedures
• Support engineering build schedules and changing project priorities

Qualifications

• 2+ years of hands‑on mechanical, electromechanical, manufacturing, or engineering assembly experience
• Experience building complex hardware from engineering or assembly drawings
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, BOMs, and technical instructions
• Strong mechanical aptitude and hands‑on experience with assembly tools
• Experience performing hardware rework or modifications
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to build quality
• Ability to work independently while following released engineering documentation
• Comfortable working directly with engineers in a fast‑paced hardware environment

Preferred Experience

• Experience with rack‑level, server, power, data center, semiconductor, aerospace, robotics, or other complex electromechanical hardware
• Experience with cable routing, connectors, fasteners, torque specifications, and hardware installation
• Previous experience supporting engineering or NPI builds
• Experience with complex electromechanical assemblies
