Job summary

Kelly Services in Hauppauge, NY is seeking an Assembly Operator for 1st shift (Mon-Fri) with pay at $20.00 per hour. You will follow SOPs and OD instructions to mechanically adjust relays and ensure quality, reporting to a Leadperson or Supervisor.

Qualifications

• Higher education or equivalent work experience.
• Strong visual acuity and attention to detail.
• One to two years of electromechanical assembly experience preferred.
• Basic English communication skills, including speaking, reading, and writing.

• Visually inspect relays for quality and accuracy.
• Magnetize relays.
• Adjust relay contact forces.
• Adjust pickup, hold, and dropout voltage.
• Adjust contact gaps.
• Adjust contact bounce time.
• Perform quality measurements and maintain accurate records, including SPC documentation.
• Complete additional assembly operations as needed.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Follow all company safety procedures, SOPs, and engineering instructions.

Assembly Operator

Pay Rate: $20.00 per hour

Shift: 1st Shift, Monday-Friday

Hours: 7:00 AM-3:30 PM ET

Position Overview

The Assembly will be trained to follow established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Operation Descriptions (ODs) to mechanically adjust relays according to engineering instructions. This position reports to a Leadperson or Supervisor.

Primary Responsibilities

• Set up relay adjustment machines for various relay types.
• Visually inspect relays for quality and accuracy.
• Magnetize relays.
• Adjust relay contact forces.
• Adjust pickup, hold, and dropout voltage.
• Adjust contact gaps.
• Adjust contact bounce time.
• Perform quality measurements and maintain accurate records, including SPC documentation.
• Complete additional assembly operations as needed.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Follow all company safety procedures, SOPs, and engineering instructions.

Requirements

• Previous inspection experience preferred.
• Ability to follow detailed instructions and meet quality standards.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
