Job summary

Salary Range: $26.00 To $28.00 Hourly

Shift: Monday through Friday 6:15am to 2:45pm

Position Purpose

Under the general direction of the Department management, the Lead is responsible for the production and performance of assigned work cells, while prioritizing Safety, Quality and Productivity.

Duties & Responsibilities

Main duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Work with Supervisor and Managers to prioritize and coordinate staffing assignments with the production schedule
  • Follow detailed documentation policies and procedures as designated by Vaupell's Quality Management System
  • Clearly communicate the daily needs of the cell to operators through verbal or written communication
  • Attend, audit or lead required meetings/trainings
  • Communicate with supervisors/managers and other departments to report status and production issues
  • Stage the work cell lines to support daily production and shipment goals with correct documentation, components, tooling and/or machinery to ensure on time delivery
  • Verify inventory accuracy, configuration and labeling on incoming and outgoing product
  • Audit work orders, identify issues and submit any needed requests such as an Inventory Adjustment and/or Engineering Change Request for changes to documentation and/or inventory
  • Ensure that up for inspection and finished goods locations are organized and quantities are accurate
  • Perform inspection of parts to ensure quality conformance
  • Communicate with the correct department if component parts are missing for daily production goals for incoming and outgoing product
  • Accurately process work orders and parts electronically and physically
  • Responsible for the daily updating of the Daily Management Board to support quality, safety, and productivity countermeasures that facilitate process improvements
  • Monitor operator attendance, production, quality, and safety throughout the day, while providing training on assembly cell standards or coaching as necessary
Knowledge and skills requirements
  • Strong interpersonal skills needed to support demand and resolve conflict
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English adequately to understand work instructions and communicate with operators and management
  • Capable with the Microsoft office suite including Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access
  • Understand how to read build books and drawings
  • Must be willing to perform tasks that are outside normal scope of job description to support daily company goals, including filling in for other leadership roles
Physical requirements
  • This position requires hands-on work on the manufacturing floor
  • Extended periods of standing and/or walking, moderate lifting, and reasonable mobility are required
  • Must be able to handle and manipulate a variety of hand tools and parts
