Job summary

Qualifications

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills required.

  • Ability to interpret blueprints (preferred).
  • Experience with pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical equipment (preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Lead essential assembly production functions for tools and components.
  • Assist supervisor with daily shift standups and priorities.
  • Participate in 5S projects to improve organization.
  • Document assembly standards and SOPs; train team members.
  • Provide hands-on guidance to assemblers for quality and efficiency.
  • Inventory essential supplies weekly or monthly.
  • Identify, reject, and segregate defective materials.
  • Ensure clean, safe work area and equipment; follow safety regulations.
  • Collaborate with production planning on order quantities and shortages.
  • Support seating/standing flexibility during shifts.

Description

Job Summary:

This role will function as a lead resource for assembly production processes, procedures, and daily workflow within a manufacturing environment focused on the assembly of tools and related components. Individuals in this role will support production execution, order fulfillment, inventory control, scrap tracking, and other fundamental department activities. We are seeking an energetic and motivated individual to help lead daily production, uphold quality standards, support team training, and drive consistent execution across assembly operations.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Learn, perform, and lead essential assembly production functions related to tools, components, and related manufacturing operations using manual, electronic, pneumatic, or other production equipment as required.
  • Assist the supervisor with daily shift standup meetings, including work distribution, supply staging, production priorities, and anticipating risks for the day related to safety, quality, maintenance, and delivery.
  • Participate in 5S projects to enhance department organization and flow.
  • Assist the department supervisor with documenting assembly standards and SOPs, and support training team members on proper procedures and expectations.
  • Provide hands-on guidance to assemblers to ensure tools are built accurately, efficiently, and in accordance with documented work instructions and quality requirements.
  • Conduct inventories of essential supplies on weekly/monthly basis as needed.
  • Ensure the team properly identifies, rejects, and segregates defective materials or components in the appropriate locations.
  • Remove dispositioned scrap from the assembly area and bring it to the designated quality location on a daily basis.
  • Be a champion for maintaining the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follow prescribed safety regulations.
  • Collaborate with the production planning team for changes needed for order quantities and escalate material shortages in the event of stock discrepancies.
  • Ability to work while seated or standing for the duration of shift as needed to support assembly production and equipment operation.
  • Ability to perform repetitive motions associated with assembly, inspection, packaging, and equipment operation as needed.
  • Must be able to push, pull, lift, and carry up to 25 lbs.

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a Manufacturing environment required
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills required
  • Experience maintaining shop inventories required
  • Ability to interpret blueprints preferred
  • Experience with pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical equipment preferred
