Job summary

Lockheed Martin in Archbald, PA is seeking an Assembly Inspector to join the Inspection Team. You will perform comprehensive inspections of parts and assemblies, verifying conformance to blueprints and specifications, and supporting continuous improvement.

This role emphasizes accuracy, documentation, and collaboration to maintain safety and quality in a dynamic manufacturing environment. Training and audits are integral, with flexible scheduling to meet production needs.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of inspection experience or equivalent education with specialized training.
  • Must be able to read blueprint, work instructions and interpret engineering drawing requirements.
  • Proficient computing literacy.
  • Demonstrated ability to use basic measuring devices such as micrometers, gauges, and calipers.
  • Experience working successfully in a team environment.
  • Must be able to support a flexible work schedule including overtime, weekends, and alternate shifts.
  • Must have IPC certification, or ability to obtain certification.
  • Must be able to pass visual acuity and color perception exam.
  • Must be able to obtain a Government Secret security clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Perform thorough inspections of subcontracted, purchased, and in-house parts using measuring equipment and basic computing tools.
  • Accurately document inspection results, discrepancies, and corrective actions while maintaining organized records.
  • Interpret blueprints, work instructions, and acceptance criteria to ensure proper identification, dimensions, and workmanship.
  • Train and mentor new personnel on inspection procedures and best practices.
  • Participate in internal and external audits, providing required documentation and support.

You will be the Assembly Inspector for the Inspection Team. Our team is responsible for ensuring product quality and compliance across all assembly and manufacturing phases.

What You Will Be Doing

As the Assembly Inspector you will be responsible for performing comprehensive inspections of parts and assemblies, verifying conformity to standards and specifications, and supporting continuous improvement. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Perform thorough inspections of subcontracted, purchased, and in-house parts using measuring equipment and basic computing tools.
  • Accurately document inspection results, discrepancies, and corrective actions while maintaining organized records.
  • Interpret blueprints, work instructions, and acceptance criteria to ensure proper identification, dimensions, and workmanship.

Basic Qualifications
  • 2+ years years of experience, or equivalent experience/combined education, with additional specialized training in specific aspects of job functions and/or demonstrated ability to perform assigned tasks.
  • Must be able to read blueprint, work instructions and interpret engineering drawing requirements.
  • Proficient computing literacy.
  • Demonstrated ability to use basic measuring devices such as micrometers, gauges, and calipers.
  • Experience working successfully in a team environment.
  • Must be able to support a flexible work schedule supporting overtime, off-Fridays, weekends, and/or alternate shifts to support product schedules as required.
  • Must have IPC certification, or ability to obtain certification.
  • Must be able to pass visual acuity and color perception exam.
  • Must be able to obtain a Government Secret security clearance.
Desired Skills
  • Previous Mechanical and/or Electrical inspection experience.
  • Experience working in various assembly areas and/or previous inspection experience.
  • Experience inspecting electrical components and/or printed wiring boards.
  • Experience/Knowledge working on cabinet assemblies and/or piece parts.
  • Knowledge of MIL standards.
  • Demonstrated computer skills areas of LM tools including SAP, Apriso, Command Media, PAL and Windchill.
Pay Information

Pay rate for this position is $28.73 - $28.73 per hour.

Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
