Job summary

Dover Food Retail is seeking an Assembler I to build refrigeration displays and sub-assemblies at our South Chesterfield, VA facility. You will read orders, identify parts, use hand and power tools, and assemble components to meet quality standards.

HS Diploma or GED required; manufacturing experience preferred. You will rotate through stations, perform basic maintenance on tooling, and contribute to a safe, efficient production team.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED required.
• Previous manufacturing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Read and comprehend an “A” order.
• Identify parts used on their assigned product line, and their placement location on the product itself.
• Identify power and hand tools used on their assigned product line.
• Read and comprehend the work order.
• Perform assembly-type functions using hand or power tools.
• Identify parts and part descriptions using work order information.
• Utilize information on material gauging and dimensioning.
• Read rulers, tape measures, metal squares, and other measuring instruments.
• Fasten parts together with bolts, screws, speed clips, rivets, or fasteners.
• Work at different work stations as production needs require.
• Work as a member of an assembly team building units to completion.
• Perform appropriate preventive maintenance on equipment and tooling.
