Job summary

Dover Food Retail (DFR) in South Chesterfield, VA is seeking an Assembler I to program, operate, and troubleshoot automated and robotic equipment for the production of sheet metal refrigerated cases.

This role requires reading work orders, identifying parts, using measuring tools, fastening components, and moving between stations on the 1st shift. You’ll work in a production environment with physical demands, including lifting up to 50 lbs.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED required.
• Manufacturing experience preferred.
• Must be able to stand, bend, lift, push, pull, squat or kneel depending on task.

Responsibilities

• Read and comprehend an “A” order.
• Identify parts used on the assigned product line and their placement.
• Identify power and hand tools used on the line.
• Read and comprehend the work order.
• Perform assembly using hand or power tools.
• Identify parts and descriptions from work orders.
• Use material gauging and dimensioning information.
• Read rulers, tape measures and other instruments.
• Fasten parts with bolts, screws, rivets or clips.
• Work at different stations as production needs require.
• Assemble units and complete them.
• Perform preventive maintenance on equipment and tooling.
