Job summary

G&W Electric is seeking an Assembler I to perform basic sub-assembly and assembly tasks in a modern manufacturing facility in Bolingbrook, IL. You will follow assembly instructions, read blueprints, gather parts, and assemble components for prototypes and production runs.

This position requires a High School diploma or GED, 0–1 year of manufacturing experience, and the ability to read drawings and Bills of Materials.

Qualifications

• High School diploma, GED or combination of work experience and skill development.
• 0-1 year experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
• Able to safely use small hand and power tools.
• Able to read and interpret drawings and Bills of Materials.
• Basic computer skills are required.
• Able to read instructions and understand verbal instructions in English.

Responsibilities

• Prepare work by studying assembly instructions, blueprints and parts lists.
• Position parts and subassemblies by using templates or measurements.
• Assemble components and check fit and connections.
• Assist in prototypes and basic assembly projects when needed.
• Maintain a safe, clean workspace and conserve resources.
• Document production and quality actions on forms.
• Contribute to team by training others in basic assembly tasks.
• Inspect finished work to ensure it meets requirements before next step.
