Job Title: Assembler – 2nd Shift
Job Description

This role performs complex mechanical assembly of components and subassemblies in a modern, state-of-the-art manufacturing facility. You will work on a 2nd shift schedule, support production goals, uphold safety and quality standards, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives while mentoring junior assemblers.

Responsibilities
  • Execute complex assembly tasks, including advanced mechanical assembly of components and subassemblies according to engineering drawings, schematics, and build instructions.

  • Work on and along an assembly line, performing production and general assembly duties to meet daily output targets.

  • Use power tools and hand tools safely and effectively for mechanical assembly operations.

  • Follow prints, schematics, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure accurate and consistent builds.

  • Coach and train lower-level assemblers, providing guidance on techniques, safety procedures, and quality standards.

  • Mentor junior team members to support their development and enhance overall team performance.

  • Ensure adherence to all safety and regulatory compliance standards across the assembly area.

  • Continuously review assembly processes and recommend improvements to increase efficiency and reduce waste.

  • Collaborate with engineers, designers, and other departments to resolve design or manufacturing issues.

  • Perform final quality inspections and testing to confirm that assembled products meet company standards and specifications.

  • Maintain inventory of parts and materials required for assembly and ensure stock remains at optimal levels.

  • Follow lean manufacturing guidelines and provide continuous improvement suggestions to enhance efficiency.

  • Work under pressure to meet production deadlines while maintaining high quality standards.

  • Participate in mandatory overtime when required to support production schedules.

Essential Skills
  • At least 2–5 years of experience in assembly or manufacturing roles.

  • Experience working in and on an assembly line in a production environment.

  • Proficiency in mechanical assembly of components and subassemblies.

  • Experience using power tools and hand tools for assembly tasks.

  • Ability to read and interpret complex technical documents, including engineering drawings, schematics, and specifications.

  • Experience following prints, schematics, or build standard operating procedures (SOPs).

  • Advanced troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in a manufacturing setting.

  • Strong knowledge of quality control processes and manufacturing best practices.

  • Ability to train and mentor junior team members and contribute to team development.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

  • Ability to work under pressure and meet production deadlines without compromising quality.

  • Good manual dexterity and multi-limb coordination to perform detailed assembly work.

  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 35 pounds and to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, or crouch as required.

Work Environment

This position is on 2nd shift, Monday through Thursday, 5:00 p.m. to 3:30 a.m., with a shift differential and a requirement to train on 1st shift for an initial period. There may be mandatory overtime on Fridays to meet production deadlines, and candidates should be comfortable with occasional schedule extensions when needed. The role is based in a modern, air-conditioned, state-of-the-art manufacturing facility equipped with industry 4.0 technology. The work is physically active and requires standing and walking for extended periods, as well as stooping, kneeling, or crouching as needed. You must be able to lift and move up to 35 pounds and have good manual dexterity and coordination for detailed assembly tasks. The environment emphasizes safety, quality, and adherence to lean manufacturing principles, with regular use of power tools, hand tools, and standard production equipment.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Mesa, AZ.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $25.30/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
