Job summary

Dollar General Corporation seeks a Store Manager Candidate to support the Store Manager in implementing store processes, supervising employees, staffing, inventory, stocking, and receiving. This role is for a limited period and develops an external candidate for the Store Manager role.

The candidate will assist in recruitment, merchandising, inventory management, and cash control while ensuring customer service leadership and compliance with company policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• Two or more years of experience in a leadership or managerial position.
• Two or more years of experience in a retail grocery store strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists in recruiting and staffing activities.
• Assists with store merchandising by staging, stocking and storage of merchandise and pricing per manager direction.
• Assists in all aspects of inventory management including damages, markdowns, scans, paperwork and facility controls.
• Follows prescribed ordering practices to meet or exceed in-stock targets.
• Provides superior customer service leadership.
• Acts as a role model by following company procedures and policies.
• Participates in store opening and closing activities.
• Ensures safe deposit of all company funds and maintains cash control procedures.
• Maintains clean, well-stocked stores and a safe environment.
• Operates store in store manager's absence and reviews operating statements for trends.
