Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Manager Candidate to support the Store Manager in supervising staff, managing inventory, stocking, and store needs. This temporary role develops external candidates for future Store Manager positions and runs for a limited period.

Responsibilities include recruiting, merchandising, inventory accuracy, cashier controls, and ensuring safe, clean store operations. The role involves opening/closing duties and travel between nearby stores as needed.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of cash handling procedures and deposit controls.
• Ability to learn IBM cash register functions and generate reports.
• Familiarity with inventory management and merchandising practices.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Bilingual Spanish is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruiting and staffing activities.
• Assist with store merchandising, staging, stocking and pricing.
• Assist in inventory management and cycle counts; handle damages and paperwork.
• Follow ordering practices to meet in-stock targets.
• Provide customer service leadership.
• Adhere to company policies and store procedures.
• Participate in store opening and closing procedures.
• Ensure cash controls and safety procedures are followed.
• Maintain a clean, safe store environment.
• Review operating statements for trends and opportunities.
• Complete all required paperwork on time.
