Job summary

Dollar General seeks a Store Manager Candidate to support the Store Manager in executing store processes, supervising staff, staffing, inventory, stocking, receiving, paperwork and store needs while developing external candidates for the Store Manager role.

This role includes recruiting, merchandising, inventory management, in-stock targets, customer service leadership, cash handling, opening/closing duties, security, and paperwork; travel may be required and the incumbent may operate the store

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as diagrams and procedures.
• Mathematical calculations including percentages and cash handling.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures and deposit controls.
• Familiarity with IBM cash register functions and reporting.
• Knowledge of inventory management and merchandising practices.
• Understanding cash, safety control policies and deposits.
• Experience with recruiting, interviewing and hiring processes.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Interpersonal skills and teamwork ability.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to solve problems with limited standardization.
• Bilingual Spanish speakers may be preferred at some locations.

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruiting and staffing activities.
• Assist with store merchandising and staging of merchandise.
• Assist in all aspects of inventory management and paperwork.
• Follow ordering practices to meet in-stock targets.
• Provide superior customer service leadership.
• Model company procedures and policies.
• Participate in opening and closing activities.
• Ensure safe deposit of company funds and cash control.
• Maintain clean, well-stocked stores and safe environment.
• Operate store in the absence of the store manager.
• Review operating statements for trends and opportunities.
• Complete all required paperwork and documentation.
