Job summary

SpartanNash, located in Grand Rapids, Michigan, is seeking an Apprentice Meat Cutter to join the team. You will cut and weigh steaks, chops, and other cuts, follow recipes, and help prepare value-added products in a fast-paced retail environment.

The role requires a High School diploma or GED and prior retail experience is preferred. You will assist with stocking, pricing, and merchandising while ensuring safety and cleanliness guidelines are followed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Prior retail experience preferred.
• Apprentice/meat cutter experience is a plus.
• Ability to read, write, comprehend and interpret documents.

Responsibilities

• Cut and weigh various meat cuts for servings.
• Produce value-added products per guidelines.
• Cut, trim, and bone carcass sections to cooking cuts.
• Follow recipes to grind and tray meats; make sausage.
• Price, wrap, and bag meat products per guidelines.
• Maintain clean, well-stocked department and assist customers.
