Job summary

Holbrook Public Schools seeks an Interim Elementary Assistant Principal at John F. Kennedy School in Holbrook, MA, for the 2026-2027 school year. Immediate starting date with reporting to the building principal.

The candidate will support instructional leadership, discipline policies, and family engagement while ensuring compliance with state and federal guidelines. Three years of elementary teaching experience and MA licensure are required or alternate credentials acceptable to the School

Qualifications

• Current MA DOE Principal/Assistant Principal Licensure.
• Three years’ successful elementary teaching experience.
• Alternate credentials acceptable to the School Committee.

Responsibilities

• Ensure teachers design standards-based units with measurable outcomes.
• Ensure instructional practices reflect high expectations and personalize learning.
• Use formal and informal assessments to measure student learning and adjust practice.
• Provide timely, meaningful feedback to staff in relation to evaluation.
• Assist in monitoring student learning data to inform school goals.
• Develop and maintain a consistent discipline policy.
• Oversee detentions, suspensions and attendance policy enforcement.
• Ensure supervision of lunches, health and safety programs, drills, and after-school activities.
• Oversee arrival and dismissal of students.
• Assist in MCAS and testing program compliance and schedule development.
• Engage families through two-way, culturally proficient communication.
• Address family concerns equitably and effectively.
• Ensure inclusive environment respecting diverse backgrounds and identities.
• Demonstrate strong interpersonal and written/ verbal communication skills.
• Contribute to a shared educational vision for student success.

Education

Bachelor degree preferred
