Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Civil/Environmental Engineer in Richmond, VA. You will work under guidance on tasks and smaller projects, collaborating with senior engineers to evaluate engineering principles and select optimal plans with input from multiple stakeholders.

You will verify compliance with codes and standards, perform field work, and assist in design and analysis of stormwater systems, hydrology modeling, and watershed evaluations. Co-op experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering or related field is required.
• 0–2 years of experience; co-op/internship preferred.
• Knowledge of stormwater planning and engineering.
• Knowledge of hydraulics and hydrology modeling; ability to perform related analyses.
• Familiarity with GIS and AutoCAD drafting standards.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with senior engineers and other disciplines on projects.
• Perform field work as directed by a senior engineer/designer.
• Assist with basic engineering tasks on projects of varying complexity.
• Conduct hydrologic and hydraulic modeling.
• Assist in stormwater master planning and floodplain evaluations.
• Support in design and analysis of stormwater management facilities.
• Provide field support for water quality studies and watershed assessments.
