Job summary

Amrize is seeking a Screed Operator for our Asphalt division in the United States. You will set up and operate the screed to ensure precise grade, slope, and mat thickness on highway paving projects, while coordinating with the paving crew and monitoring asphalt temperature and flow.

You will read project plans, maintain quality, follow safety protocols, and perform basic equipment checks to keep production on schedule. Daily travel is required and strong safety awareness is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 2–3 years of hands‑on experience operating asphalt screeds on commercial or highway paving projects.
• Travel daily; must have reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Set up, adjust, and operate asphalt screeds to achieve proper grade, slope, and mat thickness on highway paving projects.
• Read and interpret project plans, profiles, and layout markings to ensure precise paving results.
• Monitor asphalt flow, temperature, and material distribution for consistent surface quality.
• Coordinate with paver, roller, and lute operators to maintain smooth workflow and production schedules.
• Identify and correct surface irregularities such as bumps, low spots, or uneven compaction.
• Perform routine equipment inspections and minor troubleshooting as needed.
