Job summary

The Asphalt Weighmaster at Martin Marietta is responsible for the accurate weighing, ticketing, and documentation of all customer and internal vehicles entering and exiting the asphalt plant while ensuring DOT compliance and adherence to company quality standards.

Beyond the scale house, the role provides essential customer service and communicates with plant operators and drivers to ensure a seamless loading process in a fast-paced, industrial environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED (or relevant experience).
• 1–2 years in an asphalt or construction environment preferred.
• Familiarity with scale operations preferred.
• Knowledge of DOT/regulations and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Operate automated truck scales and software to capture tare and gross weights.
• Enter customer data and haulage information to produce official documents.
• Ensure outbound trucks comply with weight limits (CDOT/DOT).
• Coordinate with plant operators for correct mix and tonnage per order.
• Direct truck traffic to loading areas to maintain safe flow.
• Act as central communication hub among scale house, Foremen, Loaders, Dispatch.
• Report loading discrepancies and resolve ticket issues promptly.
• Assist customers with product availability, pricing, and scheduling; process payments accurately.
• Document findings for management review and maintain safety training records.
