Job summary

APAC Alabama, Inc., a CRH Company, is seeking an Asphalt Roller Operator to support heavy highway projects by safely and efficiently operating asphalt rollers and compactors to meet compaction specs.

You will follow grades, apply knowledge of asphalt and aggregate characteristics, and maintain safety and attendance while performing rolling operations on road construction sites. This role offers comprehensive benefits and opportunities for growth within the CRH network.

Qualifications

• Operate asphalt roller and related equipment safely and efficiently.
• Understand road construction basics and rolling patterns.
• Apply knowledge of asphalt and aggregate characteristics.
• Read tape measures and perform basic measurements.
• Maintain attendance and adhere to safety protocols.
• Able to lift up to 30 pounds and work physically demanding shifts.

Position Overview

This position involves the safe and efficient operation of Asphalt Rollers and compactors to bring asphalt, soils and aggregate within compaction specifications on heavy highway projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate equipment safely and efficiently.
• Operate an asphalt roller on road construction projects (preferred).
• Follow grades.
• Use knowledge of asphalt and aggregate characteristics and rolling patterns.
• Compare vibrating frequencies to maximum depth.
• Follow safety protocols and maintain reliable attendance.

Qualifications

• Experience operating an asphalt roller on road construction projects.
• Knowledge of asphalt and aggregate characteristics.
• Knowledge of rolling patterns.
• Familiarity with vibrating frequencies in comparison to maximum depth.
• Ability to repetitively lift 30 pounds, walk, stoop, squat, sit, kneel.
• Capable of passing required physical examination.
• Knowledge of equipment and their uses.
• Understand and apply basic mathematical skills (adding, subtracting, division, and multiplication).
• Knowledge of basic measurements and how to read a tape measure.
• Maintain reliable attendance, meet company standards, and maintain a positive attitude.
