Job summary

APAC-AL, Inc., a CRH company, seeks an operator for asphalt roller and compaction tasks on highway projects in Alabama. You will operate equipment safely, maintain compaction specifications and assist in geographic grade control on active sites.

Ideal candidates have experience with asphalt rollers, understand rolling patterns, and can manage physical demands including lifting 30 pounds and prolonged standing. E-Verify participant environment.

Qualifications

• Experience operating an Asphalt Roller on road construction projects preferred.
• Must be able to repetitively lift 30 pounds, walk, stoop, squat, sit, and kneel.
• Capable of passing required physical examination.
• Knowledge of equipment and their uses.
• Understand and apply basic mathematical skills, read a tape measure.

This position involves the safe and efficient operation of Asphalt Rollers and compactors to bring asphalt, soils and aggregate within compaction specifications on heavy highway projects.

Requirements

• Experience in the operation of an Asphalt Roller on road construction projects preferred.
• Operate equipment safely and efficiently.
• Knowledge of asphalt and aggregate characteristics
• Knowledge of rolling patterns.
• Familiarity with vibrating frequencies in comparison to maximum depth.
• Must be able to follow grades.
