Job summary

Kokosing Materials, Inc. is seeking a dedicated plant operator for its Northeast Ohio facilities. This role involves safely operating the asphalt plant on a second shift, performing preventive maintenance, and coordinating with quality control to ensure blend accuracy.

Travel to nearby plants will be required to cover time off and project demands. The ideal candidate will monitor production, supervise staff, document reports, and maintain strong customer relations while upholding safety

Qualifications

• Knowledge of asphalt plant operations.
• Must be willing to work day or night shift, including weekends.
• Must be willing to travel to other plants in Northeast Ohio.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate asphalt plant and construction equipment.
• Perform walk-arounds and inspections of equipment to identify unsafe conditions.
• Perform preventative maintenance and service as needed.
• Communicate with quality control and adjust material blends as needed.
• Monitor inventory and order materials as needed.
• Monitor production and adjust as required.
• Calibrate plant controls.
• Supervise plant staff and train employees as needed.
• Ensure safe traffic flow at plant site.
• Troubleshoot production issues and discuss with coworkers and supervisors.
• Complete plant reports and documentation accurately.
• Keep control house and yard clean daily.
• Maintain good customer relations with customers.
