Job summary

Kokosing Materials, Inc. (KMI) is seeking a second-shift plant operator to safely operate and maintain our asphalt plants across Northeast Ohio. The role includes traveling to other plant locations to cover time off and meet project needs, while upholding safety, quality, and efficiency standards.

You will supervise plant crew, perform maintenance, coordinate with QC, and help manage inventory and production. A strong safety mindset and willingness to travel are essential.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of asphalt plant operations and maintenance.
• Strong attention to detail and safety.
• Willing to travel and work day or night shifts, including weekends.
• Initiative to perform additional duties as needed.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate and maintain asphalt plant and construction equipment.
• Perform walk-around and site inspections to identify unsafe conditions.
• Carry out preventative maintenance to keep equipment in good condition.
• Coordinate with quality control and adjust material blends as needed.
• Monitor inventory levels and order materials as required.
• Monitor production levels and adjust operations.
• Calibrate the plant to ensure quality and efficiency.
• Supervise plant staff and train employees as needed.
• Oversee plant site safety and traffic flow.
• Troubleshoot production issues and discuss solutions with team.
• Complete plant reports and other documentation.
• Keep control house and yard clean and organized.
• Maintain positive customer relations and service quality.
