Job summary

Kokosing Materials, Inc. (KMI) is seeking a second shift Plant Operator to safely run and maintain our asphalt plant across Northeast Ohio. The role requires attention to safety, quality blends, and hands-on equipment maintenance.

You will travel to nearby plants to cover time off, support production, and ensure efficient, compliant operations while coordinating with teams and completing reports.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of asphalt plant operations.
• Strong attention to detail and safety practices.
• Willingness to perform additional tasks as needed.
• Willing to work day or night shifts, including weekends.
• Travel to other plants as required.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate and maintain asphalt plant and equipment.
• Conduct walk-around inspections and identify unsafe conditions.
• Perform preventative maintenance on equipment.
• Coordinate with quality control on material blends.
• Monitor inventory and order materials as needed.
• Track production levels and adjust as required.
• Calibrate plant equipment for accurate outputs.
• Supervise and train plant staff as needed.
• Ensure safe traffic flow on site.
• Troubleshoot production issues and communicate with team.
• Complete plant reports and documentation.
• Maintain cleanliness of control house and yard.
• Maintain positive customer relations.
