Job summary

Yates Construction Co. in Mississippi is hiring an Asphalt plant mechanic responsible for troubleshooting, repairing and maintaining heavy machinery used to produce hot mix asphalt.

You will service rotary dryers, drum mixers, conveyors, baghouses, and crushers at two plants located in Byram and Philadelphia, MS. The role requires performing preventive maintenance, diagnosing failures, welding and fabrication as needed, and responding quickly to breakdowns during production hours.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Able to pass pre-employment drug screen with negative result.
• Able to pass post-offer physical with capable result.
• Authorized to work in the United States.
• Willing to work outdoors in extreme temperatures.

Responsibilities

• Mechanical & electrical repairs of hydraulic, pneumatic, and complex electrical systems.
• Conduct preventive maintenance, lubricate parts, replace bearings, and change belts.
• Welding & fabrication of plant components.
• Respond to equipment breakdowns during production hours.
