Job summary

Yates Construction is seeking an Asphalt plant mechanic to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain heavy machinery used to produce hot mix asphalt. Responsibilities include servicing rotary dryers, drum mixers, conveyors, baghouses, and crushers at two plant sites in Byram, MS and Philadelphia, MS.

The role requires diagnosing hydraulic, pneumatic, and complex electrical systems, performing preventive maintenance, welding and fabrication, and rapid emergency response during production hours.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must be able to complete a pre-employment drug screen with a "Negative" result.
• Must be able to complete a post- offer physical with a "Capable" result
• Eligible to work in the United States
• Be willing to work outdoors in extreme temperatures, both hot and cold
• Experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Mechanical & Electrical Repairs: Diagnose and fix hydraulic, pneumatic, and complex electrical systems.
• Preventive Maintenance: Conduct routine inspections, lubricate moving parts, replace bearings, and change conveyor belts.
• Welding & Fabrication: Repair structural components of plant silos, bins, and chutes.
• Emergency Troubleshooting: React quickly to equipment breakdowns during production hours
