Job summary

Yates Construction Co. is seeking an Asphalt Foreman at our Byram, MS plant to supervise paving crews and ensure road and parking lot projects meet safety, schedule, and budget targets.

You will coordinate heavy machinery, manage material orders, and ensure finished surfaces meet quality specifications. Responsibilities include leading crews, controlling quality and productivity, coordinating deliveries, and maintaining OSHA/MSHA/EPA compliance on active sites, with reporting to Project Managers

Qualifications

• Must have 5 years of experience in the asphalt industry.
• Valid driver''s license; CDL is frequently a plus.
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen.
• Must be able to complete a post-offer physical with a ''Capable'' result.
• Eligible to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Direct and mentor paving crews, schedule daily assignments, and track crew hours.
• Inspect subgrades, verify temperature and tonnage of asphalt, and ensure proper compaction and smoothness.
• Measure distances to locate boundaries, operate heavy machinery, and coordinate material deliveries and trucking sub-contractors.
• Enforce OSHA, MSHA, and EPA regulations, lead daily safety meetings, and complete accident/injury reports.
• Review timecards, prepare daily progress reports, and communicate project status with Project Managers.
