Job summary

Knife River Central Idaho Division is seeking an Asphalt Plant Groundsman to support plant operations and ensure safety and efficiency. The role includes daily equipment inspections, safety checks, basic maintenance, and effective communication with coworkers and management.

Candidates should be able to work varied hours and perform manual labor outdoors in all weather conditions. Strong candidates will have construction-like work history, equipment operation experience, and mechanical skills

Qualifications

• Proven work history, preferably in construction.
• Preferred equipment operator experience.
• Mechanical experience around asphalt plants, rock crushers, or heavy equipment.
• Must meet company attendance policy.
• Willing to work varied and extended hours.
• Working in extreme weather conditions should be expected.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily inspections of equipment
• Perform site inspections to ensure safety
• Perform maintenance on equipment as needed
• Monitor production
• Complete required reports
• Communicate effectively to co-workers, management, suppliers and others you come in contact with
• Manual labor including shoveling excess material away from plant
• Perform other duties as assigned
