Job summary

Knife River Corporation - Mountain West in Idaho is seeking a hands-on Asphalt Plant Groundsman to support plant operations and maintenance. You will inspect and maintain equipment, monitor production, and ensure safety, working with a team of coworkers and supervisors.

The role requires mechanical experience with asphalt plants, rock crushers or heavy equipment and flexibility to work varied hours in all weather.

Qualifications

• Proven work history, preferably in the construction industry.
• Preferred equipment operator experience.
• Mechanical experience around asphalt plants/rock crushers and heavy equipment.
• Must meet company attendance policy.
• Willing to work varied and extended hours.
• Working in extreme weather conditions should be expected.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily inspections of equipment.
• Perform site inspections to ensure safety.
• Perform maintenance on equipment as needed.
• Monitor production.
• Complete required reports.
• Communicate effectively to co-workers, management, suppliers and others you come in contact with.
• Manual labor including shoveling excess material away from plant.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
