Job Description: Paving and Construction Laborer

Responsibilities
  • Ensure a safe work environment in compliance with all safety policies and procedures using appropriate tools and equipment.
  • Follow all company policies and OSHA/MSHA regulations for safe working procedures.
  • Report problems to your manager.
  • Assist with duties such as shoveling, raking, and operating wheelbarrows.
  • Signal operators of construction equipment for alignment and movement.
  • Follow directives from managers regarding daily tasks and project-specific expectations.
  • Operate small power tools like jackhammers when required.
  • Dig, spread, and level construction materials.
  • Lift, carry, and handle materials, tools, and supplies.
  • Assist with placement and removal of signs, barricades, and traffic control devices.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Work Requirements
  • Pass pre-employment drug screening and background checks.
  • Complete a 'Fit for Work' physical.
  • Provide valid documentation for I-9 employment verification.
  • Maintain a professional and courteous attitude at all times.
  • Report to work at scheduled times.
  • Willingness to travel and work away from home when needed.
  • Availability to work nights, weekends, and overtime as required.
  • Work outdoors in extreme temperatures.
  • Adhere strictly to safety procedures outlined in the Employee Handbook.
  • Work collaboratively with team members and supervisors.
  • Wear PPE as required by OSHA and MSHA standards.
  • Be at least 18 years old due to work environment hazards.
Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Previous construction experience preferred.
