Job summary

United Way of Weld County is seeking an Overnight Shelter Associate for the Housing Navigation Center to support emergency shelter operations overnight. You will engage directly with people experiencing homelessness in a trauma-informed, safe and welcoming environment.

The role requires flexibility to work overnights, evenings, and weekends, and includes duties such as check-in/check-out, meal service, and coordination with day staff to ensure seamless service delivery.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience with trauma-informed, person-centered care preferred.
• Experience serving highly vulnerable individuals is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide a welcoming shelter environment and resources to guests.
• Maintain overnight shift availability and check-in/check-out tasks.
• Assist with meal service, sleeping areas, and donations.
• Orient new guests to space and shelter policies.
• Use trauma-informed de-escalation to address concerns.
• Coordinate with day staff to ensure seamless service delivery.
• Support offsite overflow shelter during weather events.
