The People Concern is seeking an Overnight Support Specialist for the Lancaster Interim Housing program. This 100% onsite role reports to the Program Manager and requires you to stay overnight (Friday–Tuesday, 11pm–7:30am) to support clients and maintain a safe, clean environment.

You will engage residents with empathy, utilize motivational interviewing, and respond to crises with de-escalation and trauma-informed care. A commitment to dignified community empowerment is essential.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• At least 1 year of related experience.
• Strong customer service skills and ability to handle difficult situations.
• Ability to work independently and think critically.
• Professional demeanor under varying circumstances.
• Familiarity with non-violent crisis intervention.
• Ability to obtain Food Handlers, CPR and First Aid certification.

Responsabilités

• Act as the first point-of-contact for immediate client needs (phone, linens, water, etc.).
• Monitor and oversee the floor and common areas to ensure safety and cleanliness.
• Be visible on the floor and actively engage and welcome clients.
• Conduct routine walk-throughs and maintain a trauma-informed atmosphere.
• Develop supportive client relationships using motivational interviewing and trauma-informed care.
• Intervene during crises to de-escalate and protect client and staff safety.
• Document in HMIS, complete incident reports, and email updates before shift end.
• Work as part of a team to provide comprehensive, integrated care.
