Job summary

Black Bear Talent LLC is seeking a Quality Manager to proactively plan and manage quality standards and industry benchmarks. You will support business units with root cause analysis and metric management while coordinating supplier quality to meet customer expectations. This is a direct hire role.

The position requires deep ASME/AWS knowledge, extensive fabrication/manufacturing experience, and strong communication with cross-functional teams. On-site position in Staunton, VA.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Manufacturing Engineering or a technical degree, or equivalent manufacturing/welding experience.
• 3+ years in quality systems, audits and procedures.
• 5+ years in industrial fabrication/manufacturing.
• In-depth knowledge of ASME and AWS codes.
• ASME inspection: incoming, material certification and in-process.
• Ability to read blueprints, weld symbols and finish callouts.
• Proficient with measurement tools and ERP/office software.

Responsibilities

• Maintain compliance to ASME weld procedures and train QC staff on measurements and documentation.
• Monitor Weld Procedures and ASME code requirements for compliance with specs.
• Inspect welded sub-assemblies and assemblies at designated process points.
• Serve as main contact for Authorized Inspector (AI).
• Maintain all quality records and retention per policy.
• Perform visual and mechanical inspections per drawings and blueprints.
• Participate in ASME audits/certifications reviews.
• Coordinate with Engineering on fabrication drawings before release.
• Prepare and maintain ASME QC records including WPS and non-conformance responses.
• Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, suppliers and leadership on quality issues.
• Support final inspection/pack-out area and quality system improvements.
• Maintain quality manual and procedures; respond to audits and customer questionnaires.
• Report KPIs and drive quality improvements across the organization.
• Communicate quality goals and results throughout the organization.
