Job summary

D7 Pneumatics LLC is seeking an experienced QA/QC Manager to support our fabrication shop and field operations. The role oversees the Quality Control Program, ensures compliance with ASME and National Board codes, and coordinates with inspectors and clients.

The position begins part-time or as-needed with potential to grow as workloads increase. The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of welding inspection, material traceability, and quality documentation, plus strong communication

Qualifications

• Experience in industrial fabrication, pressure piping, boiler or related fields.
• Ability to read fabrication drawings, piping isometrics, P&IDs, weld maps and specifications.
• Strong documentation and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Administer and enforce the D7 Quality Control Manual and procedures.
• Oversee quality activities for shop fabrication and field installations.
• Review contracts, drawings and project requirements before work begins.
• Confirm applicable codes, inspection requirements and testing procedures for each project.
• Maintain compliance with ASME, National Board and pressure-piping requirements.
• Coordinate with inspectors, client representatives, engineers, and third-party agencies.
• Verify Welding Procedure Specifications are available and followed.
• Review WPS, PQR and Welder Qualification records.
• Monitor welder qualifications and continuity.
• Verify material receiving, identification, storage and traceability.
• Review Material Test Reports and certificates of compliance.
• Maintain weld maps, logs, inspection reports and turnover documentation.
• Establish and monitor inspection hold points.
• Perform or coordinate fit-up, visual welding and final inspections.
• Coordinate nondestructive examination as required.
• Ensure pressure testing per approved procedures and calibrated equipment.
• Monitor heating treatments if applicable.
• Manage nonconformance, corrective actions and weld-repair docs.
• Maintain calibration records for inspection/testing equipment.
• Control code stamps, data reports and quality records.
• Assist with audits and supplier/client inspections.
• Conduct internal quality audits and propose improvements.
• Prepare complete project turnover packages.
• Train staff on quality requirements.
• Maintain a safety-focused quality culture.
