Job summary

Avamere at Chestnut Lane in Gresham, OR is seeking a Caregiver for the day shift (6am-2pm), Thursday-Monday. The role includes assisting with ADLs, providing emotional support, ensuring resident safety, and promoting well-being for residents within a Deaf and DeafBlind community.

The ideal candidate will be proficient in ASL or willing to learn, with benefits such as health insurance, a retirement plan, PTO, and opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• Caregiver experience in memory care unit or assisted living preferred.
• Must obtain and maintain CPR/First Aid certification during employment.
• Must obtain a Food Handler's Card.
• Experience in electronic medical records documentation.
• Must be 18 years or older.
• Friendly, attentive and professional demeanor with residents and guests.
• Willing to learn ASL or improve ASL proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing and grooming.
• Provide mobility support and safe transfers.
• Assist in meal preparation and tray removal.
• Provide emotional support and companionship to residents.
• Perform housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean, safe environment.
• Monitor residents' health and report concerns to medical staff.
• Answer calls for assistance promptly and maintain confidentiality.
• Assist with orientation of new residents and staff when assigned.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
