Job summary

Avamere Communities is seeking a dedicated Caregiver-Memory Care for a part-time swing shift (2-10pm, Thu-Sat) at Avamere at Bethany in Portland, OR. You will assist residents with daily living activities, provide emotional support, and help maintain a safe, comfortable environment.

The role emphasizes empathy, professionalism, and a compassionate approach to senior care, with opportunities to grow and contribute to the well-being of residents and staff alike.

Qualifications

• Experience in Memory Care or Assisted Living preferred.
• CPR/First Aid certification during employment.
• Food Handler’s Card required.
• Experience with electronic medical records documentation.
• Must be 18 years or older.
• Friendly, attentive, and professional demeanor with residents and guests.
• Genuine desire to improve quality of life for seniors.

Responsibilities

• Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming and toileting.
• Support mobility and transfers; assist with meals and setting up meals.
• Provide emotional support and companionship to residents.
• Maintain a clean, safe environment; assist with housekeeping and laundry as needed.
• Monitor residents' health, report concerns to medical staff, and observe vital signs.
• Respond to resident calls promptly and maintain confidentiality.
• Assist with orientation of new residents and staff; perform duties as assigned.
