Job summary

Avamere at Chestnut Lane in Gresham, OR is seeking a dedicated Caregiver to support residents with daily living activities, emotional support, and safety. The role emphasizes ASL proficiency or willingness to learn, a caring, patient approach, and reliability in a Deaf and DeafBlind community.

The position includes day shift hours, a wage range of $22.28-$29.07 per hour depending on experience, and a comprehensive benefits package. Training and certifications are encouraged where needed.

Qualifications

• ASL proficiency or willingness to learn.
• Ability to obtain CPR/First Aid certification.
• Ability to obtain a Food Handler’s Card.
• Experience with electronic medical records documentation.
• Must be 18 years or older.

Responsibilities

• Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs): bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting.
• Support mobility and transfers; assist with walking and use of mobility aids.
• Assist with meals and setting up meals; clear trays as needed.
• Provide emotional support and companionship to residents.
• Maintain a safe, clean environment and protect resident privacy.
• Observe health changes and report concerns to supervisor.
• Assist with orientation of new residents and staff as assigned.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
