Job summary

Propio Language Services is seeking American Sign Language Onsite Contract Interpreters in the Detroit, MI Metropolitan area. This is an independent contractor role aiming to facilitate accurate communication across a variety of settings.

Requirements include ASL proficiency, English proficiency, and at least one ASL certification (RID, EIPA, or BEI). Travel to assignments and adherence to privacy and confidentiality standards are expected.

Qualifications

• Proficient in American Sign Language and English interpretation.
• Ability to interpret across healthcare, education, government, and other settings.

Responsibilities

• Provide accurate and professional consecutive interpretation between English and American Sign Language during onsite assignments.
• Provide remote interpretation by telephone or video when applicable to an accepted assignment.
• Follow interpreter protocols, professional standards, and client requirements.
• Comply with confidentiality, privacy, security, and assignment protocols.
• Maintain HIPAA, FERPA, GLBA and client-specific privacy requirements.
