Propio Language Services is seeking American Sign Language Onsite Contract Interpreters in the Detroit, MI Metropolitan area to facilitate accurate, meaningful communication across diverse settings. The role focuses on consecutive interpretation between English and ASL, with remote options when applicable, under independent contractor terms.

Applicants should be at least 18, fluent in English and ASL, with one ASL certification (RID, EIPA 3.7+, or BEI) and state licenses where required.

Qualifications

Professional proficiency in English and American Sign Language.
Ability to accurately provide interpretation between English and American Sign Language.
One American Sign Language Certification (RID, EIPA 3.7+, or BEI).
State-specific ASL interpreting license where applicable.
Background in health, education, or other client settings may be required.

Responsibilities

Provide accurate and professional consecutive interpretation between English and American Sign Language during onsite assignments.
Provide remote interpretation by telephone or video when applicable.
Follow interpreter protocols and client requirements.
Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA, FERPA, GLBA, and related requirements.
Travel to and from accepted onsite assignments as needed.
