Job summary

Hy-Vee Inc. is hiring for a Hy-Chi Department Cook in a fast-paced kitchen. You will prepare hot and cold foods, keep cases stocked, and contribute to a positive customer experience throughout the shift.

The role requires a passion for cooking, attention to detail, and the ability to follow safety and hygiene standards. Training is provided, with starting pay ranging from $16.00 to $20.00 per hour depending on experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• No prior experience required; training is provided.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and assist with their needs throughout the store.
• Prepare woks by cleaning, heating to the right temperature, and adding oil.
• Cook soups and meats, prepare vegetables and sauces with spices, and combine ingredients.
• Fill hot cases with prepared foods and monitor stock levels during the shift.
• Fill the cold case with fresh-made foods and prep items for the next day.
• Understand Hy-Chi kitchen operations and perform all cooking duties accurately.
