Job summary

Lassonde Pappas & Co. is seeking an Assistant Maintenance Manager - 1st Shift for its Hendersonville, NC facility. This role leads aseptic maintenance, drives reliability, and partners with Operations to optimize performance and safety across the plant.

You will oversee preventive/predictive maintenance, mentor technicians, and ensure compliance with food safety and quality standards, while managing priorities across shifts and supporting capital projects.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; college degree or technical degree preferred.
• Demonstrated maintenance leadership experience in manufacturing, food & beverage preferred.
• Experience with CMMS (eMaint) for planning, execution and analysis.

Responsibilities

• Lead maintenance activities for aseptic production equipment and related systems.
• Coordinate manpower, priorities, downtime response and planned work with Operations.
• Provide hands-on electrical and mechanical troubleshooting leadership.
• Improve preventive/predictive maintenance effectiveness and equipment history.
• Manage backlog, planning and CMMS-driven work execution.
• Drive reliability improvements using PDCA, RCA and corrective actions.
• Monitor maintenance data to identify trends and drive corrective actions.
• Support installation, commissioning, modification and replacement of equipment.
• Lead shift handoffs and communicate priorities and risks clearly.
• Develop maintenance procedures and standards for safe, high-quality work.
• Support training, onboarding and qualification of maintenance staff.
• Assist with recruiting and coaching of maintenance personnel.
• Control maintenance spending and seek cost-reduction opportunities.
• Support small capital projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Maintain compliance with LOTO, electrical safety, confined spaces and related programs.
• Promote food safety and quality culture within maintenance activities.
• Provide leadership presence across shifts and weekends as needed.
• Perform other related duties as required.
