Job summary

VIP, Inc. seeks a Flat Rate Technician to diagnose, repair, and maintain automotive systems in a safety‑driven environment. The tech will follow VIP processes, ensure proper work orders, and participate in customer engagement efforts to enhance service quality.

Candidates should have at least one year of related automotive experience or equivalent training, and pursue ASE certifications and state inspections as part of professional development. This is a non-exempt hourly role.

Qualifications

• Read, analyze, and interpret technical instructions, journals, or procedures.
• Explain vehicle information to customers clearly and accurately.
• Diagnose basic automotive problems and determine appropriate solutions.
• Interpret written, oral, diagram, or schedule instructions.
• Perform automotive services listed in the scope of work.

Responsibilities

• Maintain workplace safety as a top priority and report unsafe conditions.
• Diagnose, repair, and maintain automotive systems per ASE categories.
• Initiate and display Service Work Orders prior to service and during service.
• Complete MPI and participate in the 5-for-5 Customer Engagement process.
• Manage parts from designated desk personnel and return unused parts.
