Job summary

Gersh Autism is seeking a compassionate Behavior Technician (Paraprofessional) to support students with autism in a year-round school program. You will work in academic and behavioral settings, assisting with IEPs/BIPs and providing one-on-one and small-group support to promote academic, social, and behavioral growth.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, with an Associate’s degree preferred. A passion for helping students, strong communication, and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Associate’s degree or higher in education, psychology, or related field preferred.
• Experience with children or autism is a plus but not required.
• Willingness to pursue RBT certification within a defined timeframe.

Responsibilities

• Assist teacher with IEPs and BIPs for students with autism.
• Provide one-on-one and small group support to students.
• Support daily tasks including communication, social interaction, and self-management.
• Prepare materials and assist with classroom activities and events.
• Document data on student performance and progress toward goals.
• Collaborate with teachers and behavior specialists to maintain a structured learning environment.
• Participate in daily training sessions with behavioral analysts.
