Job summary

Gersh Autism is seeking a compassionate Behavior Technician to support students with autism in a Brooklyn, NY school setting. You will work directly with students, delivering one-on-one or small group support to promote academic, social, and behavioral development.

The role involves assisting with IEPs/BIPs, collecting progress data, and collaborating with teachers and specialists to maintain a positive learning environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate’s degree or higher preferred.
• Willingness to become an RBT within the specified timeframe.
• Experience with autism or special needs is a plus but not required.
• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist classroom teacher with IEPs and BIPs for students with autism.
• Provide one-on-one and small group support to foster academic and social growth.
• Support students with daily tasks: communication, social interaction, self-management.
• Prepare materials and assist during activities, field trips, and school events.
• Document data on student progress and communicate with the team.
