Job summary

Sylvania is seeking an Aide – Basic to support instructional programs in assigned classrooms. You'll assist teachers with activities, work with students individually or in small groups, and help maintain orderly classroom environments.

Hours are as needed up to 29 per week; the position is open until filled and requires reliability and teamwork. District-required training and background checks may apply.

• Operating standard office equipment and software applications
• Preparing and maintaining accurate records
• Supporting classroom instructional activities

Responsibilities

• Assist with classroom activities, assignments, and instructional materials under the direction of the supervising teacher.
• Work with individual students or small groups to reinforce learning concepts and assist with assignments.
• Implement instructional programs and lesson plans under teacher supervision.
• Maintain classroom work areas, equipment, and records to support instructional activities.
• Monitor students in various school settings, including classrooms, playgrounds, hallways, and lunch areas.
• Communicate with teachers and staff regarding student progress and observations.
• Report incidents involving student behavior, safety concerns, or accidents to appropriate personnel.
• Respond to emergency situations involving students and ensure appropriate assistance is provided.
• Attend meetings and training sessions related to job responsibilities.
• Support classroom teachers and school personnel with instructional and organizational tasks.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
