SWAAG seeks a compassionate, self-motivated Arts Coordinator to support our growing rural Alaska arts organization in Bethel. The role focuses on program management, community partnerships, and vibrant arts events that reflect Yukon Kuskokwim culture.

Responsibilities

• Event coordination including the Cama’i Dance Festival.
• Develop, plan, and implement local arts events and programs, such as concerts, tundra tales, First Friday, art classes, and children's camps.
• Build partnerships and use markets for outreach; advertise SWAAG events.
• Work with the Executive Director to coordinate the Cama’i Dance Festival and its volunteers.
• Cultivate a positive, inclusive, and collaborative culture across all offerings.
• Lead community engagement and outreach.
• Monitor and update SWAAG website with links, calendar, event information and online shop.
• Connect information via local media, social media, and email list serves.
• Assist Executive Director in increasing exposure and digital highlights of artists working in rural Alaska.
• Support local artists.
• Build a local and regional artist network with collected data.
• Connect artists with local and state resources.
• Create and promote local “profiled artists” among media outlets and social media, and within each artist's home community.
• Build and manage online SWAAG Gift Shop sales for limited items.
• Pursue professional development.
• Advocate for the arts, ensuring accessibility and inclusivity in offerings.
• Check in with yourself to plan enjoyable upcoming weeks.
• Attend professional development classes when offered.
