Job summary

Goldbelt Heritage Foundation in Juneau seeks a Culture & Arts Program Coordinator to support ANEP grant activities centering Tlingit arts and knowledge. You will coordinate cultural classes, workshops, and community events alongside artists, elders, youth, and partners.

The role emphasizes grant compliance, reporting, and administrative support, with opportunities to help develop programs beyond the grant and promote Indigenous knowledge within Southeast Alaska.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in arts administration, cultural studies, education, or related field.
  • 2+ years of program coordination, arts administration, education, or related work.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends; occasional travel within SE Alaska.
  • Valid Alaska driver’s license.

Responsibilities

  • Program Coordination & Implementation: Plan, schedule, and execute grant-funded cultural/arts programming; coordinate logistics for workshops, classes, trainings, and community events; assist with traditional arts programming and ensure timelines/deliverables are met; assist with after-school programs, cultural camps, and youth educational workshops.
  • Artist & Cultural Practitioner Support: Coordinate with contracted artists/instructors; manage scheduling, logistics, and communications; support integration of cultural protocols and knowledge.
  • Grant Compliance & Reporting: Maintain records of activities and outcomes; ensure ANEP grant compliance; assist with funder reports and summaries.
  • Administrative & Program Support: Track expenditures and assist with financial docs; procure materials; coordinate communications with departments; promote initiatives with Communications; calendar/notes for project management.
  • Participant Coordination & Communications: Manage registration, scheduling, and communication for classes; serve as contact for participants and instructors; track attendance and outreach.
  • Other Duties & Work Environment: Support broader programming; participate in planning/evaluation; collaborate with Elders and local educators; may work in office, remote, or community settings; exposure to cedar, wool, hides, and traditional materials.
