Job summary

Common Bond Bistro & Bakery is seeking a Pastry Cook to prepare a range of pastry items and support a high‑standard bakery operation in Houston. The role emphasizes following recipes, maintaining par levels, and ensuring cleanliness and food safety throughout the pastry and bakery sections.

You will work closely with the Pastry Supervisor, support stock rotation, and assist with receiving orders. Physical stamina and adherence to health codes are essential for success in this position.

Qualifications

• Food Handler Certification required by local health code regulations.
• Must be able to stand for an 8-hour shift.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Experience in pastry production and bakery operations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare pastry items such as breakfast items, desserts, cookies, cakes, breads, creams, and syrups.
• Follow recipes and yield guides to departmental standards.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitary work environment per Health Department and Common Bond standards.
• Manage par levels and rotate inventory; inform Manager of shortages or needs.
• Assist with receiving orders and rotation of raw ingredients and back stock.
• Communicate 86’d items to Pastry Supervisor and prioritize daily production.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
