Job summary

Whole Foods Market is seeking a Bakery Decorator to craft and decorate cakes, tarts, pastries, and custom orders with an eye for detail. You will ensure high quality, seasonal presentation, and timely completion while supporting team members and upholding food safety standards.

The role requires apron/department knowledge, strong decorating skills, and a collaborative approach to meet customer expectations. A friendly, fast-paced environment offers opportunities for growth and hands-on training.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6–12 months retail or restaurant experience.
• Complete the Bakery Decorator Apprentice training program, or equivalent experience.
• Prior experience within a professional bakery or grocery retail, preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, fill, and finish/decorate cakes, tarts, select pastry, and special-order bakery items.
• Build, ice, and decorate cakes and other bakery items following standard procedures to meet business demand; complete production and spoilage records.
• Prioritize production lists and recommend adjustments as needed.
• Merchandise and showcase products in the sales display case; monitor quality and rotate products.
• Provide guidance and support for Apprentices and other Team Members.
• Create special order cake designs based on customer preferences.
• Provide excellent customer service and handle inquiries promptly.
• Maintain a clean and sanitary work and shopping environment; ensure equipment safety.
• Perform opening, mid, and closing duties; ensure signage and pricing accuracy.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
