Job summary

Whole Foods Market is seeking a Bakery Decorator to create and decorate cakes, tarts, and specialty bakery items. You will apply artistic skills to finish products, follow procedures for quality and safety, and support store programs while providing outstanding service.

The role requires 6–12 months of related experience, completion of a Bakery Decorator Apprentice program (or equivalent), and a strong ability to work in a fast-paced team environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6–12 months retail or restaurant experience.
• Completed Bakery Decorator Apprentice training or equivalent experience.
• Prior bakery or grocery retail experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, fill, and finish/decorate cakes, tarts, pastries and special orders.
• Build, ice, and decorate cakes following standard procedures; maintain production records.
• Prioritize production lists and adjust as needed to meet demand.
• Merchandise items in display cases and ensure freshness and rotation.
• Provide guidance to Apprentices and other team members.
• Create custom order cake designs based on customer preferences.
• Deliver excellent customer service; answer phones, assist customers and vendors.
• Maintain clean, sanitary work and shopping areas; follow safety standards.
• Perform opening, mid, and closing duties; ensure signage and pricing accuracy.
