Whole Foods Market IP. L.P. is seeking a Bakery Decorator to create and decorate cakes, tarts, pastries, and special-order items.

You will use artistic skills to finish bakery goods and uphold core values while supporting store programs and food-safety standards. The role involves decorating cakes, building and finishing products, guiding apprentices, and delivering outstanding customer service in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• Efficient cake and pastry decorating skills.
• Understand color theory for buttercream blending and palettes.
• Apply proper technique with icings (Swiss, American, ganache, etc.).
• Follow recipes, directions, and procedures; manage time effectively.
• Advanced knife handling and equipment safety.
• Basic math for recipe conversions and modifications.
• Strong communication and teamwork.
• Deliver information clearly to customers, vendors, and team members.
• Meet customer service expectations in all interactions.
• Work ethic and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, fill, and finish/decorate cakes, tarts, pastries, and special-order items.
• Build, ice, and decorate cakes following standard procedures; maintain production records.
• Prioritize production lists and adjust as needed.
• Merchandise products in display cases; ensure freshness and rotation.
• Guide Bakery Decorator Apprentices and other team members.
• Create special order cake designs per customer preferences.
• Provide excellent customer service and respond promptly to inquiries.
• Maintain clean and sanitary work and shopping environment; follow safety standards.
• Perform opening, mid, and closing duties with pricing accuracy.
• Carry out other duties as assigned.
