Job summary

Whole Foods Market in Northbrook, IL, is seeking a Bakery Decorator to create and decorate cakes, tarts, pastries, and special‑order items. Bring your artistic talents to produce finished products that meet our quality standards and delight customers.

You will assist Apprentices, follow recipes, maintain a clean, safe work area, and support shifts. Prior bakery or retail experience is preferred, with flexibility to work nights and weekends.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 6-12 months retail or restaurant experience.
• Complete the Bakery Decorator Apprentice training program, or equivalent experience.
• Prior experience within a professional bakery or grocery retail is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, fill, and finish/decorate cakes, tarts, pastries, and special-order items.
• Build, ice, and decorate cakes and other bakery items following standard procedures to meet business demand.
• Prioritize production lists and adjust as needed.
• Merchandise and display products; monitor freshness and rotate stock.
• Provide guidance to Apprentices and other Team Members.
• Create special order cake designs based on customer preferences.
• Deliver excellent customer service and assist with phones and pages.
